The Photo Session

Have you ever wondered what the portrait experience is like at Cadeau Photography? As a busy mom myself I understand how daunting planning for a photo session can be. It is my aim to give you a luxe experience that not only results in amazing images of your family, but that also takes the hard work out of the whole process.

When starting the planning I encourage you to browse my portfolio. You will get a glimpse into my natural style. I know that images featuring soft colors and natural posing don’t speak to every client. However I have found that such images are timeless and will speak to you for years and years. After reserving your spot you are welcome to come into my Portland photography studio to see the wardrobe options, and to start deciding what to wear for your photo session.

The Digital Images

After our session together I get to work on selecting and editing your final images. I will put together a complete gallery of approximately 35 images. Two to three weeks following you will receive a link to your online gallery, which you will be able to purchase as a collection. You may also purchase professional products from my exclusive online store.

Session Options

I offer four different kinds of sessions: Maternity, Newborn, Milestone and Family sessions.

Maternity Session

Maternity sessions are best done during the seventh and eighth month, when your belly is showing but you are not too uncomfortable to do a photo shoot. These sessions can take place in the studio or field during sunny months and in the studio during winter months. Dad and other kiddos are welcome to be part of the session. I love capturing the authentic feelings on anticipation for the whole family!

Newborn Session

Newborn sessions are best reserved in advance. They take place approximately two weeks after birth in my Portland Photo Studio.  The studio is bathed in beautiful natural light and is stocked with everything you need, from gowns for Mom, to wraps for baby, and snacks for Dad. I encourage you to come in and relax, and take a few moments to yourself amidst the busy, tired first days of parenthood. Sibling and family shots are included in newborn sessions.

Milestone Session

Milestone sessions can be done at 3 months, 6 months (or whenever your baby is sitting independently), and one year. These sweet milestones define your baby’s first year. It truly is priceless to capture all the rapid changes your baby goes through. During sunny months milestone sessions can take place in the field where I focus on the interaction between you and your little one in a stunning location. Studio milestone sessions are also a great option as they produce soft, natural images. The focus of these sessions is the baby, but mom and dad are always encouraged to be a part of the shoot.

Family session

Family sessions with Cadeau Photography are fun and carefree. They take place in my preferred field during sunny months. In order to take advantage of the beautiful golden light, family sessions start one hour before sunset. The whole family is invited to hug and snuggle as we create these snapshots of your life together. Spots for family sessions are limited every year, and should be reserved starting in early spring.
